Prospecting 2009

I was just noticing that the first GPAA chapter meeting here in Ohio for the chapter I'm a member of, is this Saturday.

I asked myself, "Am I ready?"

Thinking about it I have to say, "No, but I'm looking forward to it." I had planned on building a dredge out of my high banker. Haven't gotten all I need for that project yet, let alone start on it. Need to check over my other equipment and clean it up. I've a bunch of concentrates in buckets I need to pan out.

And the list probably goes on. How about the rest of you prospectors, are you ready and what new gear do you plan to add this year?

Like you, not ready but looking forward to it. My main obstacle is reconfiguring the "silver mine" to a Monday - Friday gig and freeing up my weekends.
I sold my dredge last year which frees up space in my camper so I can use it again, going back to the good ole days- puddle boxin. Here's some pics to whet you appetite. HH Mark

Hey I'm looking forward to it!

The weather warms and I've saved up some leave time and I'm off to the hills.

Just spent a week doing various things in AZ, got out and did get a 1 gram nugget with my detector. A good start for 2009!

Unfortunately the gold here is much smaller than that. That 6oz I won in a fundraiser few years back, bought chances to guess how many pieces- there were 5045 and my guess of 5050 was closest. Thas what the smile was all about, didn't even have to dig for it haha. This is more like the size I find, but it adds up. HH Mark
